UX Design

PROGRAM TYPE: Skill Training

SUPPORT TARGET: Women, Youth

PROGRAM COST: $$$$

In our signature program, students are introduced to the 5-step design process that will teach them how to build a clickable prototype from scratch. Students will learn the importance of developing empathy for their users, before brainstorming ideas that solve a specific user problem. Students will then sketch ideas and test their concepts with their peers to gather feedback. Finally, each student will develop a digital prototype of a mobile app or game that can be shared with friends and family

Coding

PROGRAM TYPE: Skill Training

SUPPORT TARGET: Women, Youth

PROGRAM COST: $$$$

In this program, students will learn the fundamentals of coding using popular programming languages like HTML, CSS, Javascript and Python. In our beginner programs, students will build a multi-page website or “hack” an existing design and make it their own. We will challenge students to go beyond the basic functionalities of code to include developing their own chat bot and programming robotic hardware.

Robotics

From building drones to programming a humanoid robot, this program engages students in the exciting world of artificial intelligence. Students will work together to build and code robots using a variety of platforms including arduino, lego mindstorm, raspberry pi and makey makey.
